Since Retribution, I've had an issue where I want to open up my map, however I open it then my screen goes a bit weird and in a way it looks like flashing screen at top screen and bottom (Its hard to explain the flashy screen thing)
Then the screen freezes, you click anything it wont work, you wait nothing happens, you know you are doomed when all you can do is close the EVE cilent down or turn your computer off and on.
Today, I log into EVE and this is worse than ever, I open map. Does it again. It is unplayable when this keeps happening because I REQUIRE the map screen to play EVE.
While typing this I was able to get a screenshot but it didn't even show the situation for some reason.
My specs:
Macbook Pro late 2009 OS: Snow Leopard Graphics card: Nvidia 9400M CPU: 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Memory: 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Is anyone else getting this problem or know a fix or if this will be patched?? |

This happens every time I'm docked up now. Its impossible to open the map while docked up at a station which is extremely annoying.
I now know I'm not the only person receiving the issue, maybe it has something to do with the Nvidia Graphic card problem? |

Vincent Athena wrote:I got a NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M and no issue. So it would seem to be a NVIDIA 9400 issue.
Ah, the joys of making sure new software works on all the hardware configurations on the planet........
Someone with an Nvidia 9600GT got this issue also so maybe its an older Nvidia card issue.
Still not patched up and just makes playing EVE hard as I have to undock just to open a map :/. its very hard when you've got pirates camping a station who will simply blow you up when you undock. |

Skauroth wrote:Hey, sorry to revive a dead topic but I'm having the same issue. My client got patched today and I started getting the same map problems. Any advice?
system specs: Macbook Pro mid 2009 OS: Snow Leopard Graphics card: Nvidia 9400M CPU: 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Memory: 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
This topic isn't dead really though.
I still have the issue. It's been happening since Retribution launched which is over a month ago.
Last time I opened map just now to see if it still happens my computer screen went all weird, bright flashes of multiple colored lights appeared all over the client and my Firefox browser was flashing, and as well as anything else, flash goes black then normal black then normal.
So this topic isn't dead as this is still an on-going issue. It annoys me still that I can never open map in stations anymore. |

So it seems it's some issue related to OpenGL on (older and/or mobile?) Nvidia GPU's. It's unfortunate I can't seem to figure out a way to generate a direct program log the way Logserver does for Windows users, which generates a log identical to the one seen in the in-client debugging monitor (CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+M), which is useless since it stops working once the client freezes and there's no way of copying/saving it once frozen.
An update on the situation.
I still got this problem, CCP needs to look into it because It's really annoying me now and I can't even view the map while docked. I want to check things while docked because im in low sec, I can not, I have to undock; situations like this are very annoying.
Please can CCP view this issue and fix it ASAP please?

Thoregon Aubaris wrote:Still doesn't work. It's really frustrating. We will have to deal with this, they don't care about mac users, fact.
I am still recieving the issue. It's extremely annoying when you are PVPing and you have to stay in station. You open the map then suddenly freeze.
No CCP devs have even replied to this thread, are they sleeping? |
